Horseriding.Academy offers four masterclasses in 2020. We start with the masterclass of Alex van Silfhout, national dressage coach of the seniors. The next master class will be that of Rob Ehrens, national jumping coach of the seniors. Later this year the masterclasses of Imke Schellekens-Bartels, dressage-rider and national dressage coach of the youth, and Marion Schreuder, head teacher of the instructor courses at the KNHS, will be presented.

Each master has put together the content of their own masterclass. Each masterclass consists of several lessons, which makes it very well possible to view the lessons separately. KNHS members get a discount on the masterclasses. KNHS trainers receive 50 license points for following the master class of Alex van Silfhout, this counts as a KNHS Refresher Course.

Alex van Silfhout

Why this platform?

Marion Schreuder, head teacher of the KNHS courses, says: "Riding and training horses is, like no other sport, above all craftsmanship. If you want to do this well and responsibly, you need knowledge so that you can become more and more experienced and skilled in the correct way. With the online master classes offered on this platform, high quality and essential knowledge and inspiration of top trainers are shared which riders can use to further develop themselves, because as a rider you are never finished learning".

Maarten van der Heijden, Technical Director at the KNHS, is also enthusiastic about the initiative and explains why the top trainers have developed this platform in cooperation with the KNHS: 'In 2019 we talked to a number of top trainers about the development of a master class platform. Research shows that our members have a great need for good knowledge and education in the field of riding technique and horse welfare. In order to make the knowledge of top trainers accessible to a large audience, we started filming the master classes at the end of last year. Learning from the great masters of equestrian sports, that is the goal of Horseriding.Academy'. Rob Ehrens, one of the most successful national jumping coaches of all time, adds: 'It is important that we show how we handle our horses and train them in peace and with thoughtfulness. Through Horseriding.Academy we can reach a large audience, we should have had this platform much earlier'.
